The Cardiac Arrest App
Built for the Code
Most phones can't run a proper cardiac arrest manager during a real code. MedicDex was designed specifically for this — live timers, medication logging, and PCR export that work on any phone, even with no signal.
Every Feature You Need During a Code
Elapsed Arrest Timer
Starts when you tap "Start Arrest." Large display visible across the room. Never lose track of downtime, scene time, or resuscitation duration.
CPR Cycle Countdown
Auto-resets on every pulse check or shock. Prompts the team when it's time for the next cycle. Keeps compressions consistent without someone watching a watch.
Epinephrine / Custom Timer
Configurable countdown for epinephrine (default 3:00) or any other time-based intervention. Auto-starts on epi administration if enabled.
Timestamped Medication Log
Tap Med, select drug, log it. Every medication and event is recorded with an exact timestamp. The log builds your PCR narrative automatically.
One-Tap PCR Export
At the end of the code, tap Export. The full timeline — every drug, every shock, every pulse check with timestamps — is formatted as text ready to paste into your ePCR.
Rhythm Tabs
Switch between VF/VT, PEA, and Asystole to show the appropriate protocol for the presenting rhythm. Protocol text updates instantly.
Persists If Phone Locks
If your screen locks during the code, all timers and the medication log are saved. Open the app and everything is exactly where you left it.
Works Without Signal
The entire cardiac arrest manager is cached offline. Works in basement codes, rural areas, anywhere with no cell signal.
Why Not Just Use a Stopwatch?
A stopwatch tells you elapsed time. It doesn't tell you when the next epi is due, who got what drug and when, or give you a formatted PCR narrative at the end. Most crews are either trying to remember drug times mentally or have someone writing on a glove.
MedicDex replaces all of that. One phone, one screen, everything tracked automatically.
Part of a Complete Protocol Platform
The cardiac arrest manager is one feature inside MedicDex — a complete EMS protocol platform. It works alongside full-text protocol search, a weight-based drug calculator, clinical mode for non-arrest calls, and a protocol book with PDF viewing.
Everything is built from your department's own protocol PDF — not generic content.

Does it work if the phone screen locks?
Yes. All timers and the medication log are saved to local storage. If the screen locks during a code, open the app and everything is restored exactly where you left it.
Can multiple crew members use it?
Each crew member has the app on their own phone. Currently one device runs the arrest manager per call — typically the lead medic or whoever is running the code.
How does the PCR export work?
Tap the Export button at any point during or after the code. It generates a formatted text block with every timestamped event — drugs, shocks, pulse checks, airway interventions — ready to copy into your ePCR system.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. All features including the arrest manager work 100% offline after the initial load. Signal is never required.
